Andrew McBride is founder and managing partner of Covitus Capital, where he has played a crucial role in the firm's development since its establishment in 2023. With over nine years of experience in finance, Andrew has been involved in M&A and restructuring transactions amounting to nearly $1.5 billion. His expertise lies in the energy and infrastructure, transportation and maritime, real estate, construction, and manufacturing sectors.
Before joining Covitus Capital, Andrew worked as a Managing Director at Young America Capital and served as an Interim President and Chief Restructuring Officer for a manufacturing company under a venture capital group. He also held a Director position at a middle-market restructuring and turnaround group, where he assisted clients in navigating bankruptcy proceedings, foreclosures, ABCs, and liquidations. Andrew's early career began in the shipping and oil and gas industries, where he worked as a licensed marine and subsea engineer at Transocean and Seadrill Americas.
Andrew holds an MBA in Finance from Boston University Questrom School of Business and a Bachelor of Science in Marine Engineering from the Massachusetts Maritime Academy. He is also an IADC Certified Subsea Engineer, a licensed Marine Engineer with an Unlimited Tonnage License from the United States Coast Guard, and a Commissioned Officer in the United States Navy Reserves as Lieutenant. He is an active member of the Turnaround Management Association and the Association of Insolvency and Restructuring Advisors.
Andrew also holds licenses for SIE, Series 63, and 79.
Tony Alfonso is the managing director of Covitus Capital. Working alongside founder and managing partner, Andrew McBride, Tony brings more than 25 years of valuation and financial service experience across a diverse portfolio of organizations and industries. He specializes in mergers and acquisitions, fairness opinions, sell side, and operational due diligence, and has provided his global valuation expertise to some of the nation’s largest accounting firms.
Prior to joining Covitus, Tony spent time as an Advisory Services Partner at Aprio and was the Global Head of Valuation at financial services firm, Apex Group. But it was an almost 15-year stint at one of the world’s largest accounting and advisory networks, BDO, where Tony came to the attention of many within the Arizona business community as an empathetic, deeply knowledgeable leader in the valuation and financial services space. He has provided expert witness testimony in multiple jurisdictions around valuation matters, as well as served on the boards of a number of charitable Arizona organizations.
Tony holds a Bachelor of Science in Financial Planning and Counseling from Purdue University, as well as an MBA in Finance from the University of Pittsburgh. He’s also completed a Chief Product Officer certification from the Kellogg School of Management in Evanstown, Illinois.
He’s a current board member of the University of Pittsburgh’s Business Alumni Association and the men’s board of the Fresh Start Women’s Foundation, as well as being a past member on the boards of the Maricopa Community Colleges Foundation and Arizona Humane Society.
Outside of the office, he takes an active interest in animal welfare, youth education, economic empowerment, and veterans support.
